Where We Are Going Today: Nice Bun in Alkhobar
  • No overloaded sauces, no unnecessary gimmicks, and no trying too hard to go viral — just genuinely good burgers executed properly.

Located in Alkhobar, Nice Bun is one of those burger spots that instantly understands what makes a great smash burger work. A mix of quality meat, balanced flavors, and restraint. No overloaded sauces, no unnecessary gimmicks, and no trying too hard to go viral. Just genuinely good burgers executed properly.

The first thing that stands out is the pretzel bun. It is easily one of the best and most unique burger buns currently available in Alkhobar. Soft, glossy, slightly chewy, and rich without being heavy, it gives the burger a completely different texture compared to the standard brioche buns used almost everywhere else.

It works so well that the restaurant actually sells the buns separately, and after trying them, it makes sense why. You may buy some to use at home; you will find them just as impressive outside the restaurant.

You may also try the NBB burger and you will definitely love it. The meat tastes exceptionally clean and flavorful, with a proper sear and enough seasoning to let the beef shine without overwhelming it.

The vegetables tasted fresh, the cheese was light and balanced, and the entire burger felt surprisingly easy to eat. Unlike many smash burgers overloaded with heavy sauces that leave you regretting the meal halfway through, Nice Bun keeps everything controlled and well-balanced.

You can also try the Philly steak sandwich, which is enjoyable, but the burger clearly remains the stronger item on the menu. Same with the chicken sandwich and the chicken tenders.

The fries are average and forgettable, especially compared to how strong the burgers are. The dining area itself can also feel cramped and slightly stuffy during busy hours, which is why takeaway feels like the better option. Still, the staff are consistently cheerful and welcoming, which noticeably improves the experience.
