SESAM in Jeddah’s Al-Mohammadiyyah district is an artisan bakery concept where everything is prepared from scratch early in the day, focusing mainly on croissants, pastries, and coffee items.
The space has a warm, rustic setup and is designed around a bakery counter style where the display plays a central role in the experience.
I tried a selection from their croissant range, starting with the Swiss spinach and cheese, followed by the chocolate hazelnut and almond.
The Danish options included feta with honey and a London-style croissant, each carrying a different filling approach but staying within a similar pastry base. The custard and raspberry buns had a softer texture with a light fruit layer.
Other items that expand the menu beyond croissants are pan Swiss pecan, chocolate pan, palmier, cinnamon roll, brownies, and cookies, including triple chocolate.
The monkey bread with pistachio and halva, along with cream cheese and praline elements, adds a richer option and is a must-try, standing out as one of the more unique items on the menu, though some items may feel quite sweet.
The bakery works well for those looking for a morning stop or a casual pastry selection.
The strength lies in the variety of baked goods available, but the flavors can sometimes feel repetitive if multiple items are tried in one visit, as the base pastry profile remains similar across most options.
Their coffee is also special, complementing the menu and fitting the setting, though the focus remains clearly on baked items. For more details visit @sesam.sa.
