RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received a delegation on Tuesday evening honoring King Salman for his support and patronage of Holy Qur’an memorization associations in the Kingdom spanning over 60 years.
On behalf of the king, the crown prince received gifts including a prestigious shield, a handwritten copy of the Qur’an, and a plaque bearing the names of over 21,000 male and female memorizers of the Qur’an who have benefited from the Maknoon Association for Qur’an Memorization in Riyadh.
The event was an appreciation of the king’s record of caring for the Holy Qur’an and of directing efforts to spread its teachings and interpretation, instill its moral values, and distribute translations of it, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The crown prince thanked all non-profit associations specializing in the memorization of the holy book in the Kingdom for their high-quality initiatives in serving the Holy Qur’an and their effective contributions to developing the nonprofit sector.
He praised their continued efforts and how they complement the leadership’s efforts to reinforce the Kingdom’s leading position in serving Islam and Muslims around the world.
