DUBAI: The momentum continues to build around singer-songwriter Lolo Zouai’s latest album, “Reverie,” which was released two weeks ago.
The launch has been accompanied by an extensive social media campaign highlighting the artist’s evolving sound and visual identity.
The French-Algerian performer, known for blending R&B, pop and alternative influences, has been sharing behind-the-scenes clips, performance snippets and fashion-forward imagery across platforms including Instagram and TikTok.
The album continues the artist’s signature fusion of English and French lyricism, with nods to her Algerian ancestry. She’s joined by guest performers, including disiz, Dinos, and Lous and the Yakuza.
“This record was made through three years of grief, growth and reflection … I had to lose myself to find myself again,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to my collaborators, my friends and my Lo-riders who held me down through it all!”
Before “Reverie,” Zouai’s last release was November 2025, when she dropped a new single titled “3AM in San Francisco.” She captioned her announcement post “Time to hit em with the bilingual,” hinting that the track featured lyrics in English and French.
In 2024, Zouai’s tracks included her “Please Hold” EP featuring “jetlag” and “UNHHH,” along with “mute” and “Potential.” In the June, she announced she had written a song for K-pop group NewJeans for their Japanese debut, saying: “‘Right Now’ by @newjeans_official out now!! Written by me. I’ve been a fan of NewJeans for a while and I’m honored to be a part of their Japanese debut!”
Zouai has gained an international fan base for her dynamic stage presence and genre-blending music. Career highlights include the release of her debut album, “High Highs to Low Lows,” in 2019, which featured 12 tracks, and the 13-track follow-up “PLAYGIRL” in 2022, when the artist was featured on a billboard in New York’s Times Square.
She shared a video of herself posing in front of the billboard with fans. “I always said that one day, I would be on a billboard in Times Square. Today is that day,” she said. “Manifestation and hard work works.”
