ISTANBUL: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi met with Irish Minister for European Affairs and Defence Thomas Byrne at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkiye, on Saturday.
Byrne praised significant efforts made by the Gulf Cooperation Council to evacuate Irish citizens during the crisis in the region, the General Secretariat said in a report.
The two also discussed the importance of accelerating the launch of negotiations for the Free Trade Agreement between the GCC and the EU, “viewing it as a vital step toward bolstering Gulf-European relations.”
