Park visit to boost ties with South Korea

South Korean President Park Geun-hye will arrive on March 3 on a two-day visit. She will meet Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and senior ministers in order to bolster bilateral ties.
“The president’s visit will include a meeting with King Salman, and the two leaders will discuss how to bolster bilateral cooperation in various fields, including energy, construction and communication technology as well as on diplomatic and security issues,” said Kim Jin-soo, South Korean ambassador in Riyadh.
“Her schedule in Riyadh will also include meetings with key members of the Saudi Cabinet, an economic forum at Four Seasons Hotel as well as cultural events,” the ambassador added.
The South Korean president will be on a nine-day visit to the Middle East and her itinerary includes Kuwait, the UAE and Qatar.
“These visits are meant to expand the South Korean government’s diplomatic landscape in the Middle East and to discuss the security situation on the Korean Peninsula as well as ways to secure peace and security in the Middle East,” said the Korean presidential office.
Last week, Health Minister Ahmad Al-Khatib met his South Korean counterpart Moon Hyung-pyo and his accompanying delegation, the embassy stated.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to reinforce cooperation in the field of health between the two countries and health project drafts provided by the Koreans as well as a briefing on the South Korean health system.
Al-Khatib welcomed the South Korean minister, commending the relations that the two friendly countries share in various fields.
The meeting dealt with strengthening existing relations between the Kingdom and South Korea in the health sector and ways of utilizing expertise for the benefit and interest of the two friendly countries.
