King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) honored young Saudis for their outstanding achievement in the field of science and technology at a special function held at its headquarters in Riyadh recently.
The KACST, represented by Bader Young Entrepreneurs Program, conducted the program in partnership with Intel.
This year, more than 750 students from Saudi universities attended the program titled National Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge. They attended intensive workshops, mentoring sessions and lectures for a period of three months.
Participants focused on developing their abilities, and were trained in preparing professional business plans with the help of a number of local and international experts, to turn their ideas into successful commercial projects.
The judges panel later examined and evaluated the proposed projects in different technology and science fields, and nominated the winning projects.
Coming in first place was Al-Dallal Real Estate Market project, based on the idea of acting as a mediator between real estate development and marketing corporates, and seekers of real estate property and real estate offers, as well as investors in all real estate sectors across the Kingdom.
Winners of the first place, Turki Al-Sehibany and Nasser Al-Wehieby, received an award of SR 25,000.
Mansour Al-Mestady grabbed the second place for his Creative Wave project, which is based on the idea of maximizing electric energy frequencies. Finally, the blood-sugar management project received the third place.
The idea is based on developing mobile phone applications that help diabetics create new lifestyles by following the instructions of the American Diabetes Association. Representing the team receiving SR 10,000 award was Torfa Al-Shethry.
