NISJ receives International School Award from British Council

The Novel International School Jeddah (NISJ) received the International School Award (ISA) from British Council recently.
“It is NISJ’s second achievement in a very short span of time. Just four months ago, we received the School of Educators Award for “Best Practice Innovation,” said Padma Hariharan, the director and head of institutions at the Novel International Group.
ISA is an accreditation the British Council gives to outstanding schools for their curriculum-based international work.
“Learning never stops at Novel International School and learning goes beyond classrooms, beyond country and beyond boundaries,” Hariharan added.
She further said that this award provides recognition for teachers and their schools working to instill a global dimension into the learning experience of all children.
Mujeeb Rahman, chairman of the school, explained that NISJ is an international school offering CBSE curriculum. It is renowned for its child centric and modern teaching methodology.
“NISJ has added a dimension to its CBSE curriculum by applying for the International School Award (ISA). Aspiring for the ISA, NIS has integrated its own international curriculum and has lined up a number of projects for each grade, right from kindergarten to grade 12, spanning a period of one academic year,” he explained.
As part of the curriculum, the students learned about national costumes, food, clothing, culture, currencies, languages, and national anthems of the countries. They were also involved in speech competitions, debates, history poster exhibition, projects of models, role-plays, poetry, story recitations, coloring, fashion parade, slogan and essay writing.
