Bangladesh international schools officials have postponed a senior secondary grade exam after schools in Dhaka called off exams due to countrywide political developments and demonstrations.
Bangladesh students taking SSC exams in Saudi Arabia were concerned over the impact on their own exams. There are approximately 300 students taking SSC exams in the Kingdom.
SSC — senior secondary grade — exams in Bangladesh began Sunday. Schools that have national curriculum of Bangla syllabus in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam also follow the same schedule.
Demonstrations in Bangladesh over the war crimes sentencing of Abdul Quader Mollah, who received life in prison, have led to postponement of one exam, which was schedule to held on Tuesday in Dhaka. Accordingly, the exam also postponed in the Kingdom.
If strikes in Bangladesh intensify, then there are chances to postpone further exams in both Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. M. Mannan, chairman of Bangladesh International School (Bangla section) in Jeddah confirmed yesterday that one exam was postponed.
