The 2nd Middle East Maintenance Conference and Exhibition (MAINTCON 2012) will be held on Dec. 2-5, organized by Gulf Society of Maintenance Professionals (GSMP) in cooperation with the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) and the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM).
Nezar Al-Shammasi, chairman MAINTCON2012 mentioned that the conference would discuss asset integrity management, maintenance excellence, shutdown and turnarounds, reliability engineering, technology, predictive and preventive maintenance and case studies. The conference program includes holding four workshops discussing ultrasound-assisted lubrication, maintenance strategies and asset performance, work management for executives and equipment care team. MAINTCON 2012 will also organize an exam for Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (CMRP).
Conference keynote speakers include Ahmed Al-Sa'adi, VP, gas operations at Saudi Aramco; Hashim Hashim, DMD, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC); Gordon Smith, CEO, Bapco (Bahrain), Ahmed Al-Subaey, executive director strategic transformation office of Saudi Aramco; Abdullah Al-Zamil, CEO, Zamil Industries; Ali Al-Tamimi, VP ADMA (UAE), Gregory Jeffrey, VP & GM, user sales and industrial products division and engineered products division, Flowserve; and John Hardwick, chairman Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management(GFMAM).
More than 800 participants from 45 companies are expected from different sectors like oil, petrochemical and support services. Participating companies include Saudi Aramco, Flowserve, Zamil Steel, Kuwait Oil Company, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Qatar Petroleum (QP), Qatar Fuel Additives Company limited (QAFAC), Bapco and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
The Gulf Society of Maintenance Professionals (GSMP), conference organizer, was founded in February 2010. Its vision is to be recognized as a world-class society of maintenance professionals in the Gulf Region. Its activities include holding conferences, seminars, workshops, training courses and others.
