RIYADH: The Sports Boulevard Foundation has appointed OVG Middle East as the operating partner for the Global Sports Tower project at Riyadh’s Sport Boulevard.
According to a press release, the company, which operates in the region’s live entertainment and hospitality sectors, has been involved in the project since the planning stages.
The Global Sports Tower is designed as a vertical destination bringing together sports, wellness and community spaces in a single development.
The project spans around 84,000 sq. meters and will include more than 30 sports facilities, including an indoor climbing wall reaching 98 meters.
Jayne McGivern, CEO of the Sports Boulevard Foundation, said: “Global Sports Tower marks a major milestone for the Sports Boulevard, bringing our vision for active, connected living into a single, iconic destination.”
Iain Campbell, executive vice president of OVG Middle East, added: “Global Sports Tower represents a bold and visionary addition to Saudi Arabia’s sports and lifestyle landscape, and we are proud to be entrusted as its operating partner.”
He added: “From the outset, our focus has been on ensuring that every aspect of the development is grounded in operational excellence, aligning design, commercial strategy and guest experience to deliver a truly world-class destination.”
Campbell said the company was committed to supporting the Sports Boulevard Foundation in bringing the project to life and creating a destination that “not only meets international standards but sets new ones for the region.”
The Global Sports Tower was approved by the board of directors of the Sports Boulevard Foundation in 2024.
Planned as the world’s tallest sports tower at 130 meters, it will feature the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall and a rooftop running track with a 250-meter circuit overlooking Riyadh.
The tower is one of the key landmarks within the Sports Boulevard project, which stretches more than 135 km across Riyadh and includes pedestrian pathways, cycling tracks, horse-riding trails and sports facilities.
The Sports Boulevard project was launched by King Salman in March 2019 as part of Saudi Arabia’s Quality of Life Program under Vision 2030.
