RIYADH: The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property has launched an awareness campaign to mark World Intellectual Property Day, observed annually on April 26.
This year’s theme highlights the importance of creativity and innovation in the sports sector, as well as the role of intellectual property in protecting related elements.
It also aims to raise awareness among athletes and the public about safeguarding intellectual property rights, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The initiative is part of the authority’s efforts to empower innovators, designers and developers to advance technologies, equipment and solutions that enhance athletic performance and strengthen the sector’s competitiveness.
Protecting sports innovations and creations also helps create a secure environment that encourages investment in sports technologies and keeps pace with modern developments in the field, the SPA stated.
