JEDDAH: Fashion entrepreneur Vanissa Antonious has welcomed the “incredibly strong” response of Saudi Arabia women to the launch of her brand,” and highlighted the “cultural significance” of the region.
NEOUS, a contemporary footwear and handbag brand known for its modernist designs, architectural influences and Italian craftsmanship, launched in Saudi Arabia through an exclusive retail partnership with Omarieden late last year.
Born in Sydney to Egyptian parents, Antonious brings a perspective shaped by cultural hybridity and a fascination with form and structure.
She said recently her Egyptian heritage reflects in “my work ethic and perspective has also been shaped by my parents, which continues to influence how I approach both design and the business.”
Since it was founded in 2016, the label has grown its international fan base and is now stocked by more than 50 retailers across 24 countries.
And that fan base seems to have extended to Saudi Arabia, where Antonious says she met several women on a recent trip “who have known the brand since its inception and had invested in some of the earlier designs which they still wear today.
“There is a very assured and individual approach to personal style, alongside a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and quality. That combination creates a natural affinity with how we design at NEOUS.”
Speaking about the brand’s expansion into the Middle East, Antonious said: “The region holds both commercial and cultural significance for us. There is a nuanced appreciation for craftsmanship, materiality, and design integrity, alongside a confident and highly individual approach to personal style.”
NEOUS’ recent Spring/Summer 2026 collection, “Lingering Light,” explores an architectural yet human approach to design. “For SS 2026, we’ve focused on reduction and clarity.
“The pieces feel personal, with clean lines, soft structures and an underlying sense of ease. There’s a quiet confidence to the collection, modern and distinct, but never overworked.
“The intention was to create designs that integrate effortlessly into everyday life, while still holding a strong point of view through precision and detailing.”
