RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday met British Foreign Secretary David Cameron in Riyadh to discuss bilateral relations and ways in which cooperation between their countries might be enhanced and developed.

They also reviewed the latest regional developments and efforts to ensure security and stability, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

In a message posted on social media platform X, Cameron later said: “Regional stability is at the top of the UK and Saudi Arabia’s shared priorities. I met HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss the UK’s goal of an immediate humanitarian pause in Gaza, followed by a sustainable ceasefire, without a return to fighting.”

Also present at the meeting were the Saudi ambassador to the UK, Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan, the Kingdom’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and national security adviser, Musaed Al-Aiban. British officials included the ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Neil Crompton, and the minister of state for the Middle East, Lord Tariq Ahmed.

RIYADH: Arab-Islamic leaders have arrived in Riyadh ahead of a Saudi Arabia-sponsored follow-up summit focusing on Israel’s wars in Gaza and Lebanon.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Shavkat Mirziyoyev, president of Uzbekistan; Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council President; Bashar Assad, president of Syria; Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, prime minister of Iraq; Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain; and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, president of Egypt, arrived in Riyadh on Monday to join the extra-ordinary summit.

King Abdullah II of Jordan, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Qatar ruler Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Kuwait Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Iran First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref and Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi also arrived on Monday in Riyadh.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived on Sunday, so did Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, the Foreign Minister of Guinea Morissanda Kouyate, the President of Senegal Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Chad’s President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Uganda’s Third Deputy Prime Minister Lukia Isanga Nakadama.

The President of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Ghazouani arrived in the Kingdom’s capital on Sunday after performing Umrah and praying in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah on Saturday.

RIYADH: The Kingdom’s aid agency KSrelief recently delivered 293 food parcels and 293 health kits to vulnerable people in Syria’s Idlib governorate, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.

The aid is benefitting 1,758 people from 293 families, and is a part of KSrelief’s support for those affected by this year’s earthquake in the region.

KSrelief also delivered 292 food boxes for 1,752 people in the Mayo-Kebbi Est region of Chad. This is a part of the agency’s ongoing support projects in the African nation.

RIYADH: The Kingdom’s aid agency KSrelief has conducted 135 ear, nose and throat operations in Yemen’s Aden governorate from Oct. 27 to Nov. 3, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.

Seven specialized medical volunteers performed the operations, which are a part of KSrelief’s ongoing humanitarian projects in war-torn Yemen.
