Zainab Idrees Hawsawi is the head of communications for Saudi Arabia at Snap Inc. She joined the company in August 2022, having previously worked for Microsoft.
Hawsawi manages communications with the media and the general public and develops communication strategies, campaigns, and more for the company.
Hawsawi has extensive experience in public relations and communications, as well as reputation and crisis management. Her goals are to strategically position her clients, protect their image, and craft effective messages for them.
She has supported numerous brands, companies, and leaders in effectively reaching their target audience, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region. She is a passionate advocate for more women holding senior positions in the Kingdom.
Having graduated from Webster University (now Regents University) in London, specializing in mass communications and international relations, Hawsawi embarked on a career in which she has been responsible for managing the image of major tech companies, and providing guidance on handling reputation issues and crises.
Her career began at Okaz newspaper, and she has since held significant roles at industry giants including Hyundai, IKEA, and Microsoft. At the latter, she served as director of communications.
Beyond her native Arabic language, Hawsawi is fluent in English and proficient in the African language Hausa, as well as French.
Her work, combined with her commitment to empowering women, makes her a significant contributor to the development of communications in the Kingdom and beyond.
