RIYADH: Large crowds gathered at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Friday to perform Isha and Taraweeh prayers.

Taraweeh is the voluntary prayer performed after the evening prayer, Isha, every single night during Ramadan.

These prayers last increasingly later into the night as the end of Ramadan approaches.
