RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet approved on Tuesday the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom and Belize at the level of ambassador.

The Kingdom’s ambassador to the Caribbean country will be non-resident, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Kingdom’s acting Minister of Information Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi said the Cabinet also reviewed the economic and structural reforms that were implemented within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030 and their role in strengthening the Saudi economy and overcoming many of the challenges the world has faced during the last two years.

The Cabinet was also briefed on the content of letters received by King Salman from the presidents of Tajikistan and Burkina Faso, a letter received by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman from the Indian prime minister, and a phone call between the crown prince and the prime minister of Japan.

Al-Qasabi said the Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom’s interest in enhancing the competitiveness of local skills and talent through maximizing values and developing knowledge.

The Cabinet commended the inauguration of the Port of Jazan Primary and Downstream Industries which represents a new logistical platform for the Kingdom that contributes to developing industrial capabilities and increasing Saudi export penetration in global markets.
