ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani company that provides digital logistics solutions said on Tuesday it hoped to redefine the way businesses managed their supply chain operations after raising $10 million in the country’s largest seed round to date.
Lahore-based BridgeLinx connects shippers, mostly largescale manufacturers, with carriers, such as truckers, owner-operators, transporters and private fleets, through its proprietary platform by providing them technology-enabled solutions, including end-to-end load execution, field support, documentation and payments.
The management of the company says it has not only been offering shippers industry-beating prices and services but also improving economic outcomes for carriers.
“With logistics averaging at 10 percent of GDP globally, deploying technology to optimize and create visibility across global supply chains is a trillion-dollar opportunity,” said Salman Gul, the organization’s cofounder and chief executive officer, in a statement. “At BridgeLinx, we are on a mission to redefine the way in which businesses manage supply chains — from procurement and shipping to warehousing and distribution.”
“Our journey starts with road freight in Pakistan, and the talent-dense team we are building is incredibly privileged to be backed by some of the best investors from around the world,” he added.
The company said it wanted to broaden its product stack and expand further after winning this round of funding.
Led by Harry Stebbings’ 20 VC, Josh Buckley’s Buckley Ventures and Indus Valley Capital, the round attracted capital from some of the largest business groups in Pakistan with interests in cement, textile, electronics and automotive sectors.
In a statement issued later, Harry Stebbings said: “For me the best investments combine incredible, category-defining entrepreneurs with macro headwinds. BridgeLinx is just that — a team of phenomenal entrepreneurs operating in a space with limitless potential.”
