RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Justice said that women notaries implemented 16,753 operations in 2020, an increase of 1,043 percent compared to 2019, during which 1,466 operations were implemented, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
This came as a result of the ministry’s empowerment of women in its various sectors as well as granting them notary licenses, which contributed to serving a larger number of beneficiaries, especially as women notaries have been providing their services during and outside normal working hours and throughout the week.
The Ministry of Justice pointed out that the number of women notaries in the Kingdom has risen to 120. They provide their services through the Mwathiq service during morning and evening work hours, and they follow an integrated electronic process.
The ministry highlighted that the services provided by the notaries include issuing and terminating powers of attorney, documenting companies’ incorporation contracts, transfers of real estate ownership, declaring debts and their re-payment, and mortgages.
