Authorities in Lebanon advised to reopen shops during Eid Al-Fitr

DUBAI: Lebanese authorities have been told to make a decision to permit shops to reopen on Monday during Eid Al-Fitr.
The authorities believe reopening shops will provide financial benefits during the holiday, state news agency NNA reported citing the Head of Economic Associations, former Minister Mohamed Choucair.
Choucair said the country has passed through multiple economic obstacles, especially in the commercial sector since Oct. 17 of 2019. He added that the lockdown in the state - due to the coronavirus pandemic - has also impacted the economic situation.
Choucair also said that trade associations in multiple regions, especially the Beirut Traders Association, confirmed their strict commitment to the preventive measures instructed in order to maintain public safety.
