RIYADH: The Saudi Minister of Labor and Social Development Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi has issued a ministerial decision to gradually localize the pharmacy profession over two stages.

The decision, which comes in partnership with the Ministry of Health, will ensure Saudization of 20 percent of the workforce in the first stage from Jul. 22. The second stage will localize a further 30 percent from July. 11, 2021.

The decision will be implemented in institutions with five or more expatriate workers with exception to “pharmaceutical product marketing specialists” in pharmaceutical companies, drug agents, distributors and factories which were subject to a Saudization decision issued by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.
