Organization of Islamic Cooperation honors winning filmmakers

JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) honored the winners of the Samahet Din for Short Movies Award on Sunday, launched by the OIC’s Sawt Al-Hikma (Voice of Wisdom) Center for Dialogue.
Dr. Abdullah bin Mousa Al-Tayer, director general of the office of the OIC’s secretary-general and senior adviser, presented the awards to winners at the organization’s headquarters in Jeddah, and said the contest was a great success. He added that the whole world was fighting extreme speech, which threatens societies, and the OIC is an essential part of this campaign and call for co-existence, dialogue and acceptance of others.  
Qada Hamidi from Algeria won the Best Film Award for “Madgha,” Khaled Bisyouni from Egypt came second for his piece “Ishret Omer” and Mohammed Abdullah from Nigeria won third place for his work “Al-Wajh Al-Insani Lil Tasamoh.”
