JEDDAH: King Salman has sent a Saudi ministerial delegation to Sudan to help with the country’s economic challenges.
President Omar Al-Bashir received on Thursday evening the delegation that includes Saudi Arabia’s Commerce and Investment Minister Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Transport Minister Dr. Nabil bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi, and the Minister of State for African Affairs Ahmed Abdul Aziz Kattan.
The aim of the visit is to “enhance economic relations with Sudan and increase trade exchange,” Saudi Press Agency reported. Saudi businessmen are also due to visit Sudan in the near future.
Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi said the Kingdom supports Sudan and its people, especially due to the large role that Sudanese people played in supporting education in the Kingdom.
Sudan has suffered widespread protests since Dec. 19 after a decision to increase the price of bread.
