ISLAMABAD: The UAE Embassy in Islamabad on Friday launched a campaign to distribute 150,000 bags of flour to needy families in Pakistan.
The embassy, with support from the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nayhan Humanitarian Foundation, started the distribution in Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab.
Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, UAE ambassador to Pakistan, praised the support of his country’s leadership and its efforts to carry out charity work in Pakistan, especially during Ramadan.
On Thursday, the UAE Consulate in Karachi launched a Ramadan project in Sindh that includes the distribution of food parcels to thousands of underprivileged families in Sukkur, Khairpur, Kadanwari and Faqirabad, in coordination with the local government.
Since its establishment, the UAE has been keen to give to the people of Pakistan, and has promoted humanitarian initiatives that have achieved sustainable development in various communities, Al-Zaabi said.
