OIC calls for international force to protect Palestinians from Israeli atrocities
  • The OIC condemned Israel for martyring over 60 Palestinian protesters and wounding 2,700 others
  • PM Abbasi urged the UN Security Council to put an end to the horrific abuse of human rights at the hands of occupant forces

Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called for an international force to protect the Palestinians and setting up of a committee to probe recent massacre of Palestinians by the Israeli forces.
In a communique issued after the extraordinary session of OIC in Istanbul, the OIC condemned Israel for martyring over 60 Palestinian protesters and wounding 2,700 others.
It called upon the world community and Security Council to play their role in protecting the Palestinians.
The OIC said that Israel committed these atrocities in the backdrop of shifting of the US embassy to Jerusalem and denounced the President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Speaking at a joint press conference with OIC Secretary General Yousef Al-Othaimeen and Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Al-Hamdallah, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed out that an aid campaign will be carried out during Ramadan across all OIC states for Palestinians.
In his address, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi urged the UN Security Council to work for implementation of its resolutions on the Palestine-Israel dispute and put an end to the horrific abuse of human rights at the hands of occupant forces.
He reiterated Pakistan’s support for an independent Palestinian state.
He said Pakistan condemns the Israeli forces’ brutality against the Palestinian people.
The Prime Minister also condemned the United States’ move to shift its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
