CAIRO: Somali-American model Halima Aden shared her thoughts on beauty and representation during a recent interview with US magazine In Style.

Aden, one of the world’s most in demand hijab-wearing models, issued a message of self-love.

“You can be covered from head to toe and still be beautiful. There’s a beauty in what you say and how you carry yourself,” said the model, who walked in Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2018 Alta Moda show in New York on Sunday.

“A lot of girls fall into a trap of trying to look like someone else. Beauty is working with what you have.”

Aden made history when she graced the cover of British Vogue earlier this year as the first hijab-wearing cover star in its 102-year history.
