Filipinos warned against fake agents for Pag-IBIG, SSS

JEDDAH: The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh on Wednesday warned Filipinos in the Kingdom against transacting with unauthorized persons on behalf of Pag-IBIG Fund and the Social Security System (SSS).
In a press statement, the embassy pointed in particular to a person with the last name Bernabe, who allegedly posted in his Facebook account that he is accepting Pag-­IBIG and SSS Payments.
"Pag-­IBIG Fund categorically states that Mr. Bernabe is not in any way authorized by the Fund to accept remittance of Pag-­IBIG savings and loan payment from Pag-­IBIG members in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," said a Pag-IBIG Fund advisory quoted in the statement.
Any Pag‐IBIG related transactions with the "impostor" is illegal and any payment made to him will not be recognized by Pag-­IBIG Fund, the advisory added.
The advisory said only the following are authorized to collect payments for Pag-IBIG Fund in the Kingdom:
1. APEX Cargo in Batha, Riyadh;
2. Kapamilya Supermarket in Batha, Riyadh;
3. Sky Freight Forwarders, Inc. (TFC) in KSA; and
4. Telemoney (only in Balad, Jeddah, c/o Mr. Harry Racho).

Pag-IBIG is a government agency that offers savings, short term loans and access to housing programs for its members. Membership was made mandatory for Overseas Filipino Workers two years ago.
The SSS is also a state fund that provides loan and a pension program for its members, all from the private sector. Membership in the Philippines is mandatory but it is voluntary for those who work abroad.
