11 Filipino children pass OWWA scholarship exam

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has announced that 11 out of 110 children of Filipino workers passed the OWWA’s Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) examinations held on Dec. 2, according to the Philippine Embassy.
The examinations were held at the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), at the multipurpose hall of the Elite International School, in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The 10 successful students were Kenneth Jayson Rivero Azura, Jaime Algara Borromeo, Raizza Almonte Ganzon, Carlos Emmanuel Pasaui Garcia, Jianne Alyza G. Mendoza, Harriette Chavez Mojica, Abegail Joy Herrera Molina, Vemeni Grace Guardiana Pineda, Dominador Balagan Poquiz lll, Camille Antonette A. Ramos, and Ana Teresa Santos Ruiz. The embassy added that nine of the new scholars are from Saudi Arabia while two are from Bahrain.
The EDSP is a scholarship program for qualified dependents of OFWs consisting of a maximum 60,000 pesos (SR 5,470) financial assistance yearly for each scholar, leading to a four to five year degree course at any college or university. These scholars can enroll in any college or university of their choice and can choose any course.
