The Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Kazyuki Hamada said that all products of his country are safe, unpolluted and radiation-free. The statement comes in the wake of the leakage at the Fukushima reactor following the earthquake of 2011.
Professor Hamada delivered a lecture about his country’s renaissance and experiences at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was attended by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Information Technology, Prince Mohammad bin Saud bin Khalid.
He appreciated the role played by the Kingdom during the recent disaster. Assuring that there is no cause for concern, he said: “I assure you that all of our products are healthy. We eat our own products and there is no need for worry.”
Kazyuki explained that his country has greatly benefited from the natural disasters that hit Japan recently, “But the lesson we’ve learned is that we need the cooperation and help of other countries.”
“We learned that human beings need each other and that no renaissance can be built without cooperation,” he said, adding that although Japan has achieved remarkable development and advancement in infrastructure and education, it couldn’t stand up alone in the face of natural disasters. “The most important element in all this is combining the efforts of all humankind,” he argued.
Stressing on the importance of renewable energy for human life, he said: “Education is our first priority; it is very important for the advancement of our country. It comes ahead of food and the secret of Japan’s superiority.”
Japan’s school of thought maintains that 70 percent of work is achieved through negotiation and deliberation, 20 percent by planning and the rest by decision-making, he explained. “The Japanese, by nature, take a very long time to think and make decisions, unlike other countries that make hasty decisions with unproductive results,” he added.
He said that the government of his country cares greatly for human development and the qualification and training of human resources that can assume leadership at any required position.
“Work is the main foundation of human development,” he pointed out, concluding his lecture by saying: “My advice to your country is to open up to the world, educate the new generation abroad so that they are familiarized with the other cultures of the world are able to build their own country.”
