This refers to Siraj Wahab's report, "IISD celebrates 30th Foundation Day." (Dec. 3)
It is inspiring to learn that The International Indian School in Dammam (IISD) celebrated the 30th year of its foundation with a series of cultural programs.
Presence of Indian Ambassador Hamid Rao, along with a number of dignitaries including representatives from the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia, indicates the importance of the event.
The IISD is indeed imparting valuable services to educate the children of the Indian expatriates in this far off country. The school's growth is excellent as it began with just 250 students in 1982 and now has the strength of 16,000 with more than 850 teachers.
It is commendable to learn the management's resolve to take IISD to newer heights as was declared by Committee Chairman Thirunavukkarassu. Education surely plays a pivotal role to bring up country's development in a productive way. Present Indian economy is galloping owing to its splendid infrastructure both for the children and adults. I congratulate the school management, its teaching staff, and the students and their parents for celebrating the 30th Foundation Day of the IISD. — Anees Lokhande, Al-Khobar
