YANBU: Al-Muzain and Pak Crescent will cross swords in the final for the Al-Muzain Cup cricket tournament organized by the Yanbu Al Sinaiyah Cricket Association.
In Group ‘A’ semifinals, Al-Muzain routed Cristal by 69 runs and in the other match Pak Crescent thrashed Indo Riders by 9 wickets.
In Group ‘B’ matches, STICCO defeated Mangalore Challengers by 12 runs while Natpet eased past Punjab XI by 7 wickets.
Al-Muzain won the toss and elected to bat put up 193 for 9 from their stipulated 20 overs. Thanks to a 139-run partnership off 91 balls between Inayat (62) and Yaseen (80). Sagheer took 4 wickets for 26 runs.
In reply Cristal managed 124 for 8 wickets. Zia (31) and Jamil (24) were the main contributors. Yaseen took 3 for 19.
In the second semis, Indo Riders collapsed for 93 runs. In reply Pak Crescent reached the target for the loss of one wicket. Mohsen (38) and Nadeem (40) remained unbeaten.
In the other match, STICCO put up a total of 166 runs after they won the toss and elected to bat. Nasar top-scored with 53 runs. Atif bagged 3 for 27.
In reply Mangalore Challengers fought hard but managed to score 154 for 8. Irfan (42) was the top scorer. Nasar and Noor took two wickets each for 25 and 19 runs respectively.
Later, Punjab XI won the toss and elected to bat were bundled out for 83 runs off 16.4 overs. Jaleel took 4 for 16 runs, while Mahmood got 3 for 15. In reply Natpet scored the required runs off 15 overs for the loss off 3 wickets. Afaq (21) and Mahmood (28 not out) were the top scorers. Waqas took 2 for 12.
