Personalize your recipes and shopping with ‘Yummly’

Yummly makes finding recipes and cooking simple and fun by organizing your cooking and shopping in one place.
Download Yummly from iTunes store or Google Play and start browsing through the app.
How to use
Yummly allows you to personalize your experience by creating a profile based on your likes and dislikes, location, weather among other traits. While browsing through the recipes which are provided to you by 200 different publishers, press on Yum if you like any item. Swipe left to add any dish to your Yums, Drinks, Sides, Breakfasts, and Desserts or to a new collection you create. I have created one that is called “Parties” for example. If you’re a mom, you might want to create a new collection for your kids.
For any recipe you view, Yummly will display the following info: ingredients, nutrition and directions. If you want to prepare any recipe, just click on ingredients and add those you need to buy. What is really cool about this is that Yummly will give you even more recipes that you can make using any item on your shopping list which is great for saving and practical meal preparation.
You can also check out what recipes are popular in your area when you turn your location settings on.
Yummly gives you the chance to find recipes that best suit you and your family by dedicating a set of options for diet preferences. For example, are you vegetarian? Do you have any allergies? Or do you have any disliked ingredients? These preferences are extremely helpful, not to mention life-saving for people with certain health conditions. Alter your preferences as needed when you cook for other people.
You can now impress your guests with recipes from their favorite kitchen by filtering recipes by cuisine. Yummly offers you a list of 26 international cuisines including kid-friendly dishes. And for the sophisticated eaters among us, finally an app that acknowledges courses! Filter dishes based on the course you plan to serve.
Other filtering options include nutrition info such as calories, carbs, fat and cholesterol meters, preferred taste: salty, savory, sour, bitter, sweet or spicy and technique: baking, broiling, drying, roasting…etc
Yummly tries to make your cooking and shopping life smarter and ultimately easier by giving you suggestions for your grocery list too. I just got a suggestion to try Perfetto from LAVAZZA but have no idea based on what. It would be disappointing if Yummly is paid to recommend irrelevant products to users but that is not clear to me yet.
Give Yummly a try and share your thoughts with us. Do you use other apps for recipes?
