JEDDAH: Seven Saudi female workers at Taibah University have made formal complaints against a decision to fire them and replace them with expatriate workers.
The female employees filed successive complaints to the labor office in the region, arguing that they were dismissed from work without prior notice, a local publication reported.
The Labor Office in Madinah received the complaints, with three of the complaints being referred to the Primary Commission for Settlement of Labor Disputes for further processing.
The procedure to summon the defendant is underway. Once it is completed, the case will be referred to the commission.
The workers said they were dismissed verbally by the superintendent and that the company recruited expatriate workers in their stead.
