JEDDAH: Rain and inclement weather is likely to prevail in most parts of the Kingdom until early March, global weather reports have forecast.
The unstable weather will be due to low pressure winds to the north of the country, which in turn will contribute in strong southern winds of speeds exceeding 70 km per hour, affecting some areas.
The result of such fluctuations will be cumulus thunderstorms, which began affecting parts of Madinah, western Qassim, Hail, and the area between Hafr Al-Batin and the Northern Borders Region early Monday morning. Medium to heavy rainfall is expected, especially in areas west of Qassim and between Hail and Qassim.
The weather reports have said that the provinces of Al-Zulfi and Majamaa may also experience heavy rain, as well as potential heavy hail in most areas, including Qassim and Hafr Al-Batin.
Southerly to southwesterly winds will be active over most parts of the Kingdom, resulting in dust and sandstorms that will bring down visibility, especially in northern, central and western regions.
Temperatures will see a noticeable rise, that is over 30 degrees Celsius, in the eastern and central regions, southern Riyadh, and in the western region, eastern highlands, and Najran.
Temperatures will, however, be low in north and north central regions, as well as in Tabuk, and vary between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius .
Humidity will be relatively high in Qassim and Hail, Madinah and parts of the northern areas, highlands, and coastal areas, but will be low in other areas.
Weather reports also indicate chances of more rain early Tuesday, especially in Hafr Al-Batin, parts of the Eastern Province, in Al-Zulfi, and parts of Al-Jouf. Cold weather is expected to prevail in Madinah, Tabuk and Qassim.
Chances of rain will start declining in most parts of the Kingdom by next Thursday, but will continue to increase once again thereafter, with heavy rain. Heavy rain is expected to hit Riyadh, Qassim, and much of other the regions, but will be scanty in Tabuk and Madinah.
Rain will likely be accompanied with heavy hail and relatively cold temperatures in the northern and northwester regions.
