10% surge in Saudi online job opportunities

JUBAIL: The number of job opportunities posted online in the Kingdom rose by 10 percent over the year to January 2016, compared with the same period last year, according to the Monster Employment Index.
Online demand for health care professionals experienced the largest growth rates on a year-on-year basis, as the sector recorded an increase of 51 percent over the year to January 2016, followed by the sector of sales and business development by 35 percent, and then the human resources sector with an increase of 15 percent.
In addition, job opportunities in the sectors of hospitality and travel, marketing, and purchase declined by 8 percent, 15 percent and 20 percent respectively over the same period.
In this regard, the managing director of Monster.com, Sanjay Modi, said: “These results show that in spite of the low oil price, there is an optimistic tendency in the Saudi economy thanks to increased public investment and a constant growth in consumption.”
This surge in demand for professionals in the health care sector indicates the investments spent on the establishment of public and private health care facilities in the Kingdom, which reflected on all the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Modi confirmed.
