JEDDAH: The Interior Ministry has warned Saudis who travel to Uganda on tourist visas and hire domestic aides.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ugandan Interior Ministry is preparing to ban the entry of Saudis for alleged human trafficking and illegal labor export.
Maj. Gen. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Maroul of the Saudi Interior Ministry has urged Saudis to desist from recruiting housemaids while on a visit visa to Uganda.
The Ugandan authorities are preparing to send violators to jail for six years for “violation of their country’s regulations.”
In view of the latest development, the Ministry of Interior has asked Saudis to immediately contact the Saudi Embassy in Uganda.
