RIYADH: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) won the award for providing the Best E-Government Service among Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The award, “Best E-Government Service” for the E-Commercial Registration, was given during the fourth session of the Award of E-Government of the GCC Countries 2015, which was held in Bahrain under the auspices of Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa.
“It’s a new feather in our cap,” an official from the ministry said here. He pointed out that the new E-government service has paved the way for providing efficient and faster services to the local business community.
The launch of this service early this year was a mechanism that enables the customer to electronically issue, renew or modify his commercial registration, within 180 seconds, without any paperwork, through the website: www.cr.sa. This service enables the issuing of the Chamber of Commerce Enrollment Certificate electronically, together with his commercial registration, as an integrated service to the customer.
The MCI was keen to implement best international standards and practices through the electronic transformation to support development in the Kingdom, where this service simplifies the steps and procedures of issuing commercial registration with high reliability as a result of the integration with other authorities.
