MINA: Arab pilgrims are praying for peace and stability in their countries that are undergoing a spate of unabated violence.
While speaking to Arab News, several Iraqi, Syrian, Sudanese and Yemeni pilgrims expressed their hope that stability will return to their respective countries and underlined the need to take optimum benefit of being in Haj for praying to Allah.
“I prayed to Allah for restoring peace in my country which has been exhausted from the perpetual violence since 2011. My first and the last wish is to see my country again as happy and united as before,” Saeed Riyadh, a Syrian pilgrim said.
“It was a great opportunity to pray in Arafat for peace in my county. The security and economic situations are going from bad to worse there. Allah alone is able to change the situation for the better,” Ahmed Abu Al-Eaz, a Sudanese pilgrim said.
“I am an Iraqi pilgrim and have prayed to see my country strong again. My country has become one of the worst countries in the world,” Salah Hamdan said.
Most pilgrims who are coming from Arab countries also suffer from bad economic situations and they have hardly manageD their affairs to perform Haj this year.
“Arafat day was the best occasion to pray to Allah for improving the conditions in our country. Most pilgrims who have come here from Yemen are tired of the worsening economic situation as a result of the war there,” Ismael Mahmoud, A Yemeni pilgrim said.
