JEDDAH: The Technical and Vocational Training Corp. (TVTC) plans to establish a tourism and hospitality college in Najran.
Announcing this, TVTC Gov. Ali Al-Ghafees said the corporation will present a project plan in this connection. The tender award will be made in Najran next week. It is expected to be executed in line with world standards to create an advanced training environment for the citizens.
He said technical training will be expanded in the area through institutes and colleges in the different governorates there to meet the rising student population with secondary school education and rehabilitate them in fields suiting the labor market.
He said Najran Gov. Prince Jalawi bin Abdul Aziz noted the initiatives presented by the TVTC in aiding the armed forces on the border. He said it hosted them in their buildings in the Najran region.
Al-Ghafees added that this helps the national spirit to fight for religion and country.
The prince praised this action. “This is not strange on the part of any citizen to act during these difficult times where nationals have proved their love for the nation and allegiance to the leadership,” the prince was quoted as saying.
Al-Ghafees said that what the corporation did was a religious and national duty. He also visited TVTC head office in Najran, Saeed Al-Jabar, and Najran Technical College President Ali Al-Sagheer and college staff, and commiserated them on the loss of the late Abdullah Dawaas Al-Mansour who died due to shelling from Yemen.
