Mozambique is seeking to increase efforts to strengthen existing bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia, according to Mozambican Ambassador Cesar Gouveia.
“We have an embassy in the Saudi capital, and the Kingdom has its technical mission in Mozambique to explore the possibilities of strengthening bilateral ties,” he told Arab News on Wednesday.
He said Mozambican pilgrims have also been visiting the Kingdom’s holy cities for Umrah. Some 800 Mozambican pilgrims performed Haj this year.
Gouveia took the opportunity to invite Saudis to visit Mozambique for to tour its wonderful attractions. “Gorogonza island in Central Mozambique boasts a plethora of wildlife to be seen.”
Remaining modest, he commented that “Last year, only some 70 Saudis visited Mozambique, probably because its tourists attractions had not yet been that well-known,” he said.
To reassure travelers, he added that the country, located in Southeast Africa, is very safe for foreign travelers and tourists.
