Opposition politician Kassab Al-Otaibi conveyed his thanks and appreciation to Minister of Interior Prince Mohammad bin Naif for sending a medical plane to take his father from Al-Jouf to Riyadh hospitals, and paying the expenses of all his escorts, and offering condolences on his death.
Prince Mohammad got to know of the deteriorating health of Al-Otaibi’s father through a tweet published by someone called Nimer (Tiger). Subsequently, the prince sent a medical plane to transport Kassab’s father to Riyadh, but because of his poor health condition he couldn’t go on board the plane and died soon afterward.
Al-Otaibi said through tweets on his account: “Those who don’t thank people will not thank God. All thanks to the minister of interior for sending a medical plane to take my father to Riyadh. And thanks for his warm condolences despite the political disagreements.”
He added: “Thanks to Tiger for drawing attention to the issue.”
He also said that he was offering his appreciation to the prince because that was how he was raised by his father.
“My father couldn’t go to Riyadh because of his critical condition, even though the plane was waiting for him,” he said.
Al-Otaibi has been living in London for the past 20 years. He used to work in a high school in Al-Jouf before he joined the opposition.
