Samsung Engineering, in a jointl initiative with Royal Commission for Jubail, recently invited distinguished schools to the eco-generation English speech contest on the environment for the students.
This contest has given opportunities to the students in the Eastern Province to explore the environmental awareness activities by attending the Eco-generation English Speech Contest on the Environment.
Invited schools had its internal preliminary contest among their 7 to 9 graders and winners were eligible to attend the final contest held at Samsung Naffora Techno Valley in Jubail on Tuesday.
Among the finalists, five ultimate winners were given the opportunity to engage the Global Youth for the Environment Forum to be held in Seoul early next year as representatives for the Kingdom in order to advance their awareness, role and commitment in environmental conservation and protection.
Winners also shall have a chance to make a speech at the forum in front of other 400 students from all around the world.
Among the program's objectives were to raise awareness within the community toward the conservation of the environment; to fulfill the social responsibility through educating the future generation; to enhance global leadership resulting from participating in the international event.
Samsung Engineering has been working to raise awareness on the environment among children from 1996 to fulfill our corporate social responsibility.
Since 2006, we've launched 'Eco-generation', our CSR brand, with UN Environment Programs to provide environmental networking platform for children and youth. We hope many of the students have a chance to rethink about their roles towards environment, furthermore, the sustainable life.
