Arafat Day is on Sept. 11

JEDDAH: Arafat Day, when Hajis stand in prayer on the plains of Arafat near Makkah at the peak of the annual pilgrimage, will be on Sunday, Sept. 11, the semi-official Sabq.org website announced on Thursday, quoting sources. It said no one sighted the new moon on Thursday evening. The Saudi Supreme Court announced on Friday that the current month will be thirty days long. Eid Al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice will be celebrated on Monday, Sept. 12, said the website, adding that Saturday, Sept. 3 will be the first day of Dul Hijjah.
