JEDDAH: Underdogs of playing coach Paul Taguba beat R Printing-New Cabalen Restaurant 86-64 in the SEIKO-JBL Invitational Basketball Tournament at the Khalidia court here.
Underdogs played their running game well in the whole game as R Printing-New Cabalen Restaurant lost its main man in the second quarter due to injury.
Amores top-scored with 19 points for Underdogs and was adjudged as the SEIKO Watch Best Player of the game while Renee scored 21 points for R Printing-New Cabalen Restaurant.

Khalidia Tambayz of coach Gerry Acosta defeated Fame 105-96. Khalidia Tambayz offense was unstoppable in the final quarter as Fame committed crucial turnovers. Cariño and Pugoy had 19 points apiece for Khalidia Tambayz and were adjudged as the Giordano Best Players of the game while Garcia led Fame with 47 points.
In Friday games, Briman Islamic Center of coach Mahmoud Quidlat beat JDC B 83-59 in the Inter-Dawah group. Briman Islamic Center run their offense well as JDC B missed important baskets in the final quarter. Lapiz scored 23 points for Briman and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Leo had 19 points for JDC B.
ICTHUS of Dennis Elmenzo defeated Sunbullah 117-68. ICTHUS bounced back from a previous defeat against Pazadaure. Carbonnel top-scored with 31 points for ICHUTS and was adjudged as the SEIKO Watch best player of the game while Munez collected 21 points for Sunbullah.
Lion of coach Rey Maddatu defeated Eagles 86-77 in overtime. Eagles playing with only 6 players tried hard but faded in the overtime period. Lion’s end game assault paid well as Eagles missed crucial baskets. Lazaro scored 21 points for the Lion and was adjudged as the New Cabalen Restaurant Best Player of the game while Dolloso led the Eagles with 28 points.
Wasalak 40’s of playing coach Fred Concepcion beat JDC Veterans 91-70. Wasalak played their running game in the fourth quarter. JDC Veteras also lost steam in the dying minutes of the game. Brian top-scored with 23 points for Wasalak 40’s and was adjudged as the SEIKO Watch Best Player of the game while Manlangit scored 17 points for JDC Veterans.
Meanwhile, S.N.K.S.J. (Samahan Ng Kabataan Sa Jeddah), a group of Filipino youngster formed a group of basketball players dubbed as JBL Teens. This group is under the umbrella and supervision of Jeddah Basketball League and fully supported by their parents. Their first project is a mini barkadahan basketball league every Satuday afternoon in Khalidia court. The JBL Teens officers are Mohamed Acub, Piolo Rivera, Gab Carbo, Justin Durante, Jacob Petilla, Wayne Allen, Marky Dianalan, Abdul Abdulaziz, Ramand Mamak, Baseem Asla, Bobby Manalumba, King Acosta and Benett de Borja.
