MAKKAH: In its bid to offer the best services and the utmost comfort to pilgrims, the Kingdom has spent the equivalent of some big nations’ budgets on projects that serve that goal.
One of the projects that deserves a special mention is the government complex in Muzdalifah, which will house this year a number of government agencies.
The project has five entrances to residential and office buildings. Located on a one-million-square-meter area, it can accommodate 10,000 employees and contains 3,200 residential and office units.
There are 13 buildings, a water tank with a capacity of 36,000 cubic meters to ensure provision of water for 15 days, warehouses, mosques, an airstrip and a power-generating station.
Through the implementing of this huge project, the Mina holy site will have greater capacity to accommodate the increasing number of pilgrims.
This holy site is originally a valley between mountains in the north and south. It is only inhabited during the Haj season. Empty spaces around it are allocated for tents.
