JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia is a friendly country which upholds the sovereignty of other nations was the message sent by Saudi German Hospital in celebrating Pakistan’s independence day with expatriates on the hospital’s premises on Sunday.
Dr. Mohammad Ewais, CEO of the Jeddah Group, attended and spoke about Pakistan’s Independence Day and conveyed his sentiments on behalf of the owners of the organization.
He explained that as a result of great struggle and at a cost of untold human lives, Pakistan came into being on this day on August 14, 1947.
Saudi German Hospital celebrated the 69th Independence Day of Pakistan to show solidarity with Pakistani brothers working at SGH, as the community of Pakistanis working at the hospital in Jeddah celebrated this occasion.
The idea of Pakistan, a separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent where they could lead their lives according to their faith and aspirations, was conceived by the great thinker, philosopher and poet of the East, Allama Mohammad Iqbal. The Muslims under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah were able to turn Allama Mohammad Iqbal’s dream into reality.
Pakistan is home of 200 million people today. It is a progressive moderate and democratic state in the world.
