In the Careem app, there are two types of bookings: Now, which brings the user a car in minutes, and Later, which brings a car at a scheduled time.
“Later bookings allow users to schedule daily/weekly rides in advance. The Repeat feature is unique to Later bookings only, and allows user to have a scheduled car at their doorstep. The availability of Now and Later may vary, depending on the selected car type and city.
The process of using each of them is straightforward: The user runs the app, selects Now or Later. Ride Now brings the user a car as soon as possible. Ride Later brings a car at a later time of the day, week or month.
The user chooses the date and time (15-minute slot or a fixed time selection depending on the selected car type). Activating the Repeat toggle takes the user to a monthly calendar in which they can pinpoint booking time and date in advance, and have a car at their doorstep repeatedly.
The Repeat feature lets the user book more than once as required. The user simply chooses the date and time from a calendar in the app for when they would need a car.
Some car types have a booking window, the company stated and added: “Careem guarantees that the captain (driver) will arrive within the bookings window 99 percent of the time.
Other car types like the business car type have a specific booking time. “Careem guarantees that the captain will arrive exactly on time 95 percent of the time, and 99 percent of the times no later than 5 minutes,” the company stated.
