JEDDAH: BMG Polo Cup celebrated its 20th anniversary by setting the event in the heart of the English countryside, at the farms of Cambridge recently.
The polo cup’s anniversary event was aimed to support multiple charities in a social and athletic framework. The cup brings together the East and the West, in order to bridge gaps and exchange views.
Basil Al-Ghalayini, CEO of BMG Financial Group, hosted royalties of both countries — Prince William, Duke of Cambridge as well as Prince Abdulaziz Al-Saud, at the open grounds of the polo cup.
The sunny blue sky and lavish venue were ideal for the match which, after much tenacity, ended in a tie between both the British and Saudi teams.
The attendees expressed their admiration of BMG Foundation’s work toward providing support to institutions and charities by sponsoring such a high profile and prestigious social and athletic event. Additionally, the event raised awareness of campaigns directed toward university students of the Gulf region, particularly Saudi Arabia.
BMG Polo Cup is considered as one of the most prestigious and important sports and social events, attracting interest of the Queen of England who has keenly attended it in the past, amid several other polo enthusiasts, as it is known as a noble sport.
