Civil Aviation trainers pass training course

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) sponsored a train the trainers’ seminar, which concluded in the presence of Naim Shibanna, assistant to General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) president for central services. This was in celebration of the authority’s academy joining the regional excellence program.
Eleven trainers representing a variety of specialized academic centers attended the program.
Fahad Alharbi, president of the academy pointed out that the existing partnership between the academy and the ICAO has assumed tremendous importance and is in line with the vision and directions of the GACA and to enhance the academic efforts toward the provision of quality services in the training field.
He pointed out that training the trainers’ seminar represents the second part of the emergence of the academy as a regional hub franchise program. The training the trainers online represented the first part of the program. He added that the academy trainers were able to successfully pass both seminars.
He stressed the importance of these courses and their role in supporting the academic stature to become an internationally certified regional center and this is one of the strategic goals that the academy is close to achieving.
This will contribute directly to support its students, which will provide the Kingdom’s airport with qualified work force in air traffic control disciplines like maintenance of aviation systems, fire and rescue, and safety and operation of airport and aviation security.
The president of the academy stated that the solid cooperation with the international organization is continuing and has helped in qualifying six senior trainers in the academy and maintain the high quality of training that the academy has set.
He valued the support the academy is getting from the assistant to GACA president for central services and the rest of the authority's top executives.
