MAKKAH: Mazin Alsinnari, the president of the Pilgrims Housing Committee at the Makkah municipality, said the residential units in Makkah are ready to house more than 1.6 million pilgrims in the various neighborhoods and districts of Makkah.
Alsinnari, who was speaking to a local newspaper, said that the number will increase in the coming weeks as some of the owners of residential units could not apply during the specified time limit. This comes after a request to extend the deadline was submitted to the governor of Makkah and the chairman of the Central Haj Committee.
Alsinnari said that there are 18 teams in place for the followup and inspection of all operations, adding that there are also three emergency squads in place who will begin work on the 10th of Dul Qadah and continue until the end of Dul Hijjah.
